In this ongoing course, students will jump in to a unique blend of P.E. and math... But How??? Great question! Well, you can expect this course to be about half P.E. and half math. Each class will have a different math focus (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Number Recognition, Fractions and Decimals). Each class will also have a different P.E. focus (Speed, Jumping, Endurance/Cardio, Hand-Eye Coordination, Core or Strength). Together, we will blend these 2 subjects that might appear different on your brick and mortar class schedule, but in my class, they have become 1 fun, engaging class! In the 30 minute class time, we will begin with a short, 5 minute warm-up. We will warm up our brains with simple math facts and our bodies with light - moderate intensity exercises that target the whole body. Then, we will jump into a 20 minute math challenge + workout. During this time, students will be given various math problems. We will start simple with basic math problems (5 +7 = ?, 8 - 3 = ?, 5 x 2 = ?, what is this fraction: 5/8?, etc.). Then the answer to our math problem will tell us how many reps of our new exercise we need to do. Let's look at an example.... If the students see the problem on the whiteboard: What is 5 + 7? On their piece of paper or notebook that they will bring to class, they will write 12! Then, we will do 12 squats, plank high fives, jumping jacks... Or whatever exercise is given. The overall goal of this class is not to teach new math concepts that the students are unfamiliar with, but rather sharpen each student's understanding of math concepts that they have learned while exercising. I believe that practicing math facts while also jumping, running and moving will definitely strength each student's ability to remember math facts, but also make it fun! First 4 Week Schedule: Week 1: Single Digit Addition + Endurance/Cardio Week 2: Multiplication + Power/Jumping Week 3: Multiplication + Division + Speed and Strength Week 4: Division + Hand-Eye Coordination and Endurance

I currently am a credentialed teacher in Washington State and hold my endorsements in biology (5-12), health (K-12) and fitness (K-12).
I currently teach AP Biology, honors biology, anatomy and physiology and health science.
Last year, I taught P.E., Weightlifting, biology, environmental science, health and physics to middle and high school students.
I hold my Masters Degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in life sciences and health.
I received my Bachelors Degree in Athletic Training from Whitworth University. I completed 1,250 clinical hours working with medical doctors, physicians assistants and physical therapists in physical therapy clinics, collegiate, semi-professional and high school athletic training rooms, emergency rooms and urgent cares.
I am also a former college football player and coach and a current high school football coach.
I am also a former Orangetheory Fitness Instructor.
