Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 4
In this class, learners will be introduced to productive thinking, a creative thinking strategy that focuses on generating many, varied, and unusual ideas. Using a simple squiggle line, students will brainstorm different ways to transform it into imaginative drawings. Along the way, we’ll talk about how creativity works and how thinking differently can help us solve problems and express ourselves.

The class is structured with a short introduction and warm-up, followed by guided drawing time and open-ended creativity. I will model an example live and guide students with prompts and encouragement. Students can choose to create one detailed drawing or several quick sketches using multiple squiggle lines (a printable worksheet will be provided).

My teaching style is supportive, energetic, and student-centered. I give lots of encouragement, ask open-ended questions, and celebrate all ideas. Learners will interact with me and each other throughout the session, especially during drawing time and the optional share-and-tell portion at the end. This class is meant to be fun, stress-free, and full of imagination!
