Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
Have you ever been to an aquarium to see all of the beautiful fish? Think about the most colorful creatures you have ever seen.
The eye-catching mantis shrimp surprisingly is not one that you will find at the aquarium. This amazing creature has a punch so strong that it can shatter the glass of some fish tanks. That’s right, the mantis shrimp uses its dactyl clubs to punch its prey. Their punch is so strong it is like a wrecking ball smashing into a building. This is not the only amazing characteristic of the mantis shrimp either. They have one of the best eye sites out of any animal in the world.

In this class, we will learn all about the mantis shrimp. We will explore interesting facts about the mantis shrimp through pictures, videos, and discussions. The students will learn about their predators and prey. We will end class with a fun I-spy game and a mantis shrimp drawing.

My teaching style:
I enjoy having fun while teaching and politely encouraging my student to remember the rules to help the class run smoothly. I always want the students to share and interact as much as possible while allowing shy learners to watch and engage as they feel comfortable. I strive to help all learning types feel included in my class. My goal is to have your student share all the interesting facts they have learned for days after the class. My personal style of teaching is engaging, energetic, enthusiastic, with a touch of silly. I hope to share my passion for learning about all living creatures with each of my students.

Over the years, I have taught in public and private schools, offered personalized one-on-one tutoring, conducted engaging online classes, and served as a dedicated camp counselor. Teaching is not just a profession for me; it's a true passion, and I am eager to share my expertise with your child.

My areas of expertise encompass a wide range, including the exciting realms of exploring living animals, English as a Second Language (ESL), Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and more.

As a former camp counselor, I had the privilege of leading students on captivating exploration hikes and engaging experiments that ignited their curiosity about the natural world. My lifelong fascination with animals even led me to obtain a PADI Dive Master certificate, allowing me to introduce young students to the wonders of scuba diving and the ocean's mysteries.

During my college years, I earned an endorsement in Language Arts. For the past four years, I have dedicated myself to teaching ESL online, forging connections with students from diverse backgrounds worldwide. Teaching the English language is a source of great joy for me, and I employ fun and creative techniques to help students of varying proficiency levels master this important skill.

My passion for all creatures, from insects and arachnids to mollusks, drives me to inspire and connect with my students. I encourage them to observe and enthusiastically share their discoveries of fascinating creatures from their own surroundings during our classes. Additionally, I create opportunities for students who share similar interests to socialize and learn together.

Building connections with my students is a top priority, and I actively encourage them to participate and share their knowledge on every topic. Throughout our classes, I will provide personal videos and photographs from the topics we study, and I eagerly anticipate your child's contributions as well.
