US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
This four-week class will teach the students all about some amazing spiders. Each week we will explore a new spider. We will talk about what the spider eats, what might try to eat it, where it lives in the world, and interesting facts about each different spider. The students will be sent some coloring pages and will complete a few drawings at the end of the class. Spying on Spiders is a very engaging and active class. The students will have a chance to share their background knowledge and be encouraged to interact with other students. This class will help build social skills and is a great building block for expected school behavior. The students will learn: Class 1: Peacock Spiders Class 2: Tarantulas Class 3: Banana Spiders Class 4: Diving Bell Spider Please Note: These classes have been taught in the Backyard Bug Club. Please check if your learner has already taken any of these spider classes previously. In each class: *They will practice writing the name of the spider. *See a map of where the spider is found in the world. *Play an interactive game as a class. *See videos and pictures of each spider. *Make and discuss observations. *Practice taking turns and raising their hand. *The students will each have time to share their art. *Have fun! My teaching style: I enjoy having fun while teaching and politely encouraging my student to remember the rules to help the class run smoothly. I always want the students to share and interact as much as possible while allowing shy learners to watch and engage as they feel comfortable. I strive to help all learning types feel included in my class. My goal is to have your student share all the interesting facts they have learned for days after the class. My personal style of teaching is engaging, energetic, enthusiastic, with a touch of silly. I hope to share my passion for learning about all living creatures with each of my students.

I am absolutely thrilled to have the privilege of teaching your child. With a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, a 120-hour TEFOL Certificate, and a PADI Scuba Divemaster certificate, I bring a wealth of teaching experience to the online classroom.
Over the years, I have taught in public and private schools, offered personalized one-on-one tutoring, conducted engaging online classes, and served as a dedicated camp counselor. Teaching is not just a profession for me; it's a true passion, and I am eager to share my expertise with your child.
My areas of expertise encompass a wide range, including the exciting realms of exploring living animals, English as a Second Language (ESL), Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and more.
As a former camp counselor, I had the privilege of leading students on captivating exploration hikes and engaging experiments that ignited their curiosity about the natural world. My lifelong fascination with animals even led me to obtain a PADI Dive Master certificate, allowing me to introduce young students to the wonders of scuba diving and the ocean's mysteries.
During my college years, I earned an endorsement in Language Arts. For the past four years, I have dedicated myself to teaching ESL online, forging connections with students from diverse backgrounds worldwide. Teaching the English language is a source of great joy for me, and I employ fun and creative techniques to help students of varying proficiency levels master this important skill.
My passion for all creatures, from insects and arachnids to mollusks, drives me to inspire and connect with my students. I encourage them to observe and enthusiastically share their discoveries of fascinating creatures from their own surroundings during our classes. Additionally, I create opportunities for students who share similar interests to socialize and learn together.
Building connections with my students is a top priority, and I actively encourage them to participate and share their knowledge on every topic. Throughout our classes, I will provide personal videos and photographs from the topics we study, and I eagerly anticipate your child's contributions as well.
