Students of my aquarium class requested an ongoing club to share and learn with their friends here about the fish they are keeping, questions and answers they have, fish tanks they are working on, and other aquatic topics.

Class experience

US Grade 5 - 8

Students will learn about topics including Topics include: Fish compatibility issues, how to read a compatibility chart, keeping marine tanks, raising coral, freshwater plants, making your own filter, 3 types of filtration your tank must have, schooling and shoaling fish, how to introduce new fish to your tank, water quality and testing, making your own fish food, fish breeding, substrate choices, and any other topics they wish to investigate or learn about.
Mrs. Carr is a retired marine biologist who teaches biology, chemistry, and aquatic science in high school. She maintains 24 aquariums at school and 8 at home, including freshwater, saltwater and reef tanks. She is also the vice president of her local fish club, the Raleigh Aquarium Society.
