In this one-time class, learners will experience the scientific method in daily life by conducting their own fun (and yummy) experiments. We will discuss the steps in the scientific method and the process of each step. Although this class is supported by slides in Nearpod, it will be mostly hands on doing experiments. Learners will be able to define the scientific method and explain the steps by doing several science experiments in class.
As a geologist, I have used the scientific method for a number of experiments and research topics. As a field geologist who has relevant job experience, I have used it to to make critical decisions on real life scenarios.
Please refer to the class description for the necessary supplies for the experiments.
Parents do not have to individually log on to Nearpod. I can share my screen so that younger learners do not have difficulty. I will also share my screen for any required Youtube videos.
