The Physics of Fun Come join us for this exciting journey into the world of physics through investigations of some of the exciting adventures we do for fun. Students will learn about the different forces employed to design each ride or activity and take part in some experiments and/or challenges that demonstrate these forces. This is an interactive class that thrives on group participation. I can't wait to get to work with all the future physicist's out there. Here is a breakdown of the topics covered: Week 1 - Roller Coasters Week 2 - Skateboarding Week 3 - Surfing Week 4 - Airplanes Week 5 - Skydiving Week 6 - Bumper Cars Each week there will be an introduction to the activity, the forces involved and then there will be some activities to demonstrate. Students may be asked to bring some basic household items to some of the classes for the activities. The materials will be things you most likely have like tape, paper, etc. They will be posted a week in advance if needed.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to identify which forces are at work in some fun activities.
