US Grade Kindergarten - 1
No class on Wednesday, June 19, 2023. Welcome to Science Class! This class will have a new topic each week where we will explore science topics geared to kindergarten and first grade. We will learn and apply the scientific method to our topic of the week and conduct an experiment or investigation. Each week I will post a printable handout that students can use during class as we make observations, formulate a hypothesis, conduct an experiment or investigation, and draw a conclusion. On weeks that we have an experiment, I will demonstrate the experiment in class and post directions on how students (with parent supervision!) can complete the experiment at home, outside of class. It is not a problem if students do not have the handouts for class. They are always welcome to listen and participate by sharing ideas and answering questions. My favorite part of teaching is building relationships! I strive to create a positive, relaxed environment where we can learn and have fun. I do not require students to mute, but I will mute students if there is distracting background noise. It is helpful for students to know how to mute/unmute themselves. I encourage students to ask questions and participate! I also offer this class 2x a week: https://outschool.com/classes/we-are-scientists-weekly-science-class-for-kindergarten-and-1st-grade-AxWedw9E?sectionUid=0bb7996b-447f-4dbc-9c67-257515a56124&showDetails=true Here are our topics: Week of June 12: What is a Scientist?
