Super Space Science and Art Club With Miss Erin
Class experience
US Grade 1 - 3
In this weekly ongoing class, students will learn about about a different aspect of space each week (stars, planets, solar systems, moons, etc...) The class will begin with a vibrant presentation and engaging discussion on the topic of the week. Learners will be encouraged to participate in the conversation and ask/answer questions. Next, they will participate in the game of the week to consolidate learning. The game of the week may be trivia, guess the word, fill in the blank,...
Students will learn about a new space related topic each week. They will consolidate their new knowledge by playing a game and creating a craft.
I am a certified elementary school teacher. I taught science in the live classroom for 5 years and here on Outschool for 2 years. I also ran a summer space themed camp.
The supply list will be posted a week in advance, or sent to the student after they have registered (unless the student signs up close to the class' start time.) If you do not have the materials, your child can improvise with whatever you happen to have at home. Feel free to contact me for suggestions for alternative supplies if you are missing anything. Here are some examples of what we may need: Paper Coloring materials Paint Glue Scissors Glitter Week of April 21: Black Holes Supplies Needed: A cup/glass Paper or flexible cardboard (3-4 pieces) Scissors Tape Small balls/beads/beans/marbles
Some students may need help with the crafts, especially on weeks we use scissors.
