Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 4
Recognizing the verb in a sentence affects the ability to identify other words and functions. An action verb distinguishes itself fairly easily because it is a movement. Linking verbs are passive and must be learned. We will play this board game using given linking verbs to make sentences. Seeing the words repeated and using them to create will implant them in memories. After playing the game we will complete a maze then identify the verbs in sentences and decide if the verb is an action verb or linking verb. There is no homework. Learner progress is evaluated by the sentences made during the game and finding verbs and correctly categorizing them in sentences after the game. A certificate declaring completion of the class will later be available in the classroom.

Games make content more understandable and memorable. I created this game because so many students struggle with linking verbs.
