Description
Class Experience
Students will learn how to read recipes correctly, how to scale ingredients, how to make YUMMY desserts in varied techniques. These is the perfect place for kids to develop, build upon, and sharpen their culinary skills and at the same time boost their confidence in the kitchen. Students will learn about the basic of baking along with cool tips how to make any dessert in to a restaurant dessert look and feel.
My name is Zohar. I have been a Pastry Chef since 2009. In the past 4 years I've been teaching kids how to Bake in elemetary private schools and public schools in San Diego. Ever since I remember myself I loved to bake. I started to bake and sell cakes in High School when I was 16. The change in my life happened after I gave birth to my oldest daughter in 2009 and I realized that baking was my life's ambition. I went to Bishulim, the Israeli Institute of Culinary Arts and became a professional Pastry Chef. In the past years I've been doing Baking Workshops for both kids and adults. I love my job and love to see how adults and kids succeed in creating amazing desserts and learn more about making beautiful and tasty desserts with no previous experience. I am ecited to pass my knowledge on to you.
Kids will need to use tools like bowl, hand mixer/standing mixer, rolling pin, food processor. Ingredient list and recipe will be sent upon registration. I always give replacement to ingredients if there any allergies or want to turn the dessert to a vegan dessert.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
4 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
The classes includes using an oven, microwave, stove and knife. Parents need to be present- helping or supervising while using the oven, the stove, the microwave and the knife. Some of the classes contain nuts, eggs, dairy and flour. In case of allergies, please contact me for substitues ingredients.
