Class Experience

Encouraging children to write "thank you" letters from an early age will improve their communication, social and handwriting skills. They will also learn the value and etiquette of writing a "thank you" letter.

Students will learn:
How to write a thank you note
Brainstorm ideas of what you can put in a thank you note
Purposes of letter writing
Greeting examples
Closing examples
Punctuating a letter
Capitalization in a letter
Addressing an envelope

Students will have a chance to go through the process of writing a thank you letter: 
1. Brainstorm ideas for writing (writing process)
2. Write the letter
3. Check for punctuation and capitalization
4. Address the envelope
