Class Experience
This will be an interactive class. We will meet once a week to discuss the chapters assigned. The students will interact with the teacher and other students in the class. The first half of the class we will focus on retelling and discussing the characters, the second half we will make text to self connections and make predictions as to what will happen next. Students will be assigned chapters to read prior to class so that we can discuss the characters and retell making connections to...
Students will improve their understand of text and be able to make text to self connections. They will be able to retell and discuss the main characters in the story.
I am a certified elementary teacher and love reading! I enjoy making text to self connections and the joy reading brings to everyone. I have a little girl who owns Blaire and other American Girl Dolls, so incorporating something that children love will aid in the love of learning.
Students will read chapters assigned before class to discuss. Chapters: 1-8, 9-15, 16-23
Book: Blaire by Jennifer Castle
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
