Take Control of Your DSLR Camera (Multi-Week Version)
Mary Lynne Ashley
In this DSLR fundamentals course, you will learn how to better achieve your photographic vision by understanding the technical features of your camera, including learning manual photography. Absolute beginners are welcome!
***Please Note: This is the same class as my Photography Camp: Take Control of Your DSLR Camera, just spread out over five weeks instead of every day for a week. There are many more reviews for that version of the class, so please check those out if you'd like to see what the experience has been like for other students! *** This class is about DSLR cameras. Probably the easiest way to find out if yours is a DSLR is to do a Google search for "Is the [insert camera make and model here] a...
By the end of the course, you'll know how to confidently use your camera in manual mode as well as the various automatic and partially automatic modes. Technically, that means you'll understand ISO, shutter speed, aperture, how to change each of them and why you would want to. You'll understand how to use manual focus and auto focus, how to choose the right lens for a given situation, and will have an understanding of most of the buttons and dials you see on the camera body.
I've been a professional photographer since 2001 and have a wide range of photography experience, including many years photographing babies and children. I've been teaching photography for over ten years to professional photographers, enthusiasts and teens through group workshops, private lessons and online classes. I'm recognized as a Master Photographer by the Professional Photographers of America and was also awarded the organization's Photographic Craftsman degree in recognition of my work teaching other professional photographers.
