Syllable Search

In this ongoing class, students will learn to identify syllables using movement, speech, and writing for words that have 3 syllables.

Students will use movement, speech, and writing to learn to break words into syllables, and use that information to spell those words correctly.

This class will utilize a soft or plush ball or stuffed animal that students are able to hold easily with one hand.  Students should be able to toss and catch balls most of the time.

Prerequisites include:
-The ability to read at a second grade level.
-The ability to write letters to create a word by copying the displayed word.
-The ability to follow directions.
-The ability to catch a small ball.

Students will have the opportunity to interact with each other and the teacher throughout the class, as well as completing individual tasks.  This class incorporates movement, speaking, and writing to help solidify what is being learned in a fun and engaging way.
