Welcome to the Coffee Corner! My name is Hannah Dunbar, and I am a licensed elementary school teacher. #study We will put on our sleuthing hats and get our magnifying glasses ready to solve a mystery! This one-time course will be a way for us to dive into learning strategies to tackle and solve story problems. Story problems in math can be both intimidating and confusing, which is why this course will teach practical strategies on how to tackle these tricky problems in a fun, engaging way. As an elementary school teacher, story problems are something my students struggle with, and with this course I would like to offer some enrichment and extra practice on how to tackle these tricky problems. So I need your help, are YOU ready to help solve the mystery?
Learning Goals
Students will feel more confident in solving math word problems.

Welcome to the Coffee Corner!
My name is Hannah Dunbar and I LOVE all things coffee. You may ask, why a coffee shop? For adults, coffee shops offer a place for people to come together to discuss, collaborate, and get creative in a comfortable environment. That is what I am also promoting in the Coffee Corner: collaboration, creativity, and comfort.
Professionally, I have been a gifted education teacher for the past five years. I have my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a Specialization in Gifted Education.
I LOVE teaching. It is my personal passion, I can't wait to offer Project Based Learning (PBL) with a Social Studies and Science focus, Math, and Cursive Classes in the Coffee Corner.
Personally, you'd find me spending time with friends and family, playing with my dog, Zoe, researching the newest educational trends, and brewing up a delicious cup of coffee.
I look forward to getting to know you and your student!
