US Grade 8
In this ongoing, once-a-week math class, we’ll explore a wide range of foundational math skills designed for students working at an 8th-grade level. Whether your learner needs extra support, a confidence boost, or just more practice, this class offers a welcoming space to build math understanding—one step at a time. Each session, we’ll work through a variety of math problems together, focusing on how to break down the question, identify key information, and choose the best strategy for solving. Students will learn to approach problems using methods like: -Drawing diagrams -Guess and check -Finding patterns -Working backward -Writing equations or number sentences We’ll tackle both single-step and multi-step problems across a range of topics, including: -Algebra and linear equations -Fractions, decimals, and percents -Geometry and measurement -Probability and problem-solving strategies -Formulas and real-world applications Because this is an ongoing class, each week stands alone—students can join or leave at any time without feeling behind. Lessons are flexible and student-driven, meaning we’ll adapt to the needs of the group and give plenty of time for guided practice and discussion. What to Bring: Just a pencil, paper, and a positive attitude! A calculator is welcome for more complex calculations, such as those involving exponents. This is a supportive environment where learners are encouraged to ask questions, think critically, and build confidence in their math abilities.

Hi! I’m a certified Elementary Educator with a Master’s in Educational Leadership and over 18 years of classroom experience, both in the U.S. and around the world. My teaching journey has taken me to international schools in New Zealand, Kazakhstan, Thailand, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, where my family and I had the privilege of living for 15 years. These global experiences have shaped my teaching philosophy and deepened my commitment to working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
I specialize in small-group and one-on-one instruction, where I can truly connect with learners, foster curiosity, and empower them to take ownership of their learning. I believe that meaningful relationships are the foundation for authentic education—and I strive to make every student feel valued, seen, and supported.
On Outschool, I teach a wide range of classes including various levels of math, problem-solving sessions, world travel and geography lessons, book clubs, nature journaling, tutoring, reading comprehension courses, and novel studies. No matter the topic, I prioritize engagement, quality instruction, and making learning fun and relevant.
Outside the classroom, I’m a passionate long-distance trail runner, an avid reader, and a lifelong traveler. I love being outdoors and believe that adventure, both in life and learning, helps us grow in the most meaningful ways. I’m also a proud mom of two young children and married to a fellow teacher (you might see him on Outschool, too!).
I’m excited to connect with your learner and be part of their educational journey!
