Lesson 1:
Week 1: Engineering Challenge – Egg Drop
Objective: Explore the concepts of impact and design.
Activity: Design and build a protective casing for an egg to survive a fall from a height. Students will test their designs by dropping the eggs and adjusting based on results.
Lesson 2:
Week 2: Engineering Challenge – Build a Catapult
Objective: Learn about force, motion, and simple machines.
Activity: Use popsicle sticks, rubber bands, and a spoon to create a small catapult. Test how far objects can be launched and adjust the design to improve performance.
Lesson 3:
Week 3: Engineering Challenge - Build a Paper Rocket
Objective: Explore basic principles of aerodynamics, force, and motion.
Activity: Build a paper rocket using construction paper, tape, and a straw. Launch the rocket and experiment with modifications to improve its flight.
Lesson 4:
Week 4: Math and Measurement – Marshmallow Bridge
Objective: Explore measurement and problem-solving by building structures.
