Learn to draw and paint Van Gogh's Starry Night with a holiday twist! ⭐🎄✨ No experience necessary! Students will use pencil, oil pastels (or crayons), and watercolour to create their own unique works of art. After the class you can take a picture of the painting (or scan it) and have it printed on Christmas cards. You could also frame the painting and give it as a gift! Perfect for the holidays! The class will consist of three main parts: sketching in pencil, colouring with oil pastel or crayon, and finally painting with watercolour! Ms. Emily will guide students step-by-step throughout the class and will show a close up view of her hands while she demonstrates each step. Students will be encouraged to ask questions and share their artwork with the other learners in the class. It will be a warm and welcoming environment that will be a good mix of learning and fun! Come get creative with us!⭐🌈🎄✨

Supply List
You will need: a pencil, eraser, oil pastels or crayons, watercolour paint, watercolour paper (approximately 9” x 12”), a medium-sized paintbrush, water jar, and tissues/paper towel.

👩🎓 I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts and have taught a wide range of art classes over the years, including teaching art to individuals on the autism spectrum.
🦋 My specialities include drawing animals and nature, as well as painting with watercolour.
🌈✨ I always strive to teach fun and engaging classes while creating an inclusive environment that puts learners at ease. I like to sprinkle educational facts into each art class and allow lots of room for creativity. I don’t believe art should be stressful and strongly believe that having good art experiences can lead to greater self confidence and improved mental health.
