Students will be introduced to the letters of the alphabet in the Spanish language. Students will learn the names of each letter, the sounds that each letter makes as well as a vocabulary word for each letter. This class is structured with a "circle time" approach. I will use flashcards, body movements and a form of chanting to promote excitement, interest and memorization. Students will be introduced to and become familiar with the names, appearance and various sounds of each letter of the Spanish alphabet. They will obtain a strong vocabulary base in the Spanish language. They will learn to produce sounds that do not exist in the English language.
Mrs. Llaneza is a native Spanish speaker and has ample experience teaching Spanish to young students. Mrs. Hernandez - I have a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Northeastern Illinois University, a Master’s in Education from University of Phoenix, and Doctorate (in progress) from Aurora University. I teach K-12, elementary, middle school, and high school levels. Mrs. Haywood - I have obtained college credits in the Spanish language from North Central University as well as the University of Minnesota. I have taught beginning and basic Spanish skills to young students over a period of 20 years in different settings such as a charter school, private school, afterschool programs and personal tutoring. I am currently seeking a degree in Spanish at the University of Arizona.
