Class Experience
Students will start class by taking notes on the process of solving system of equations using substitution. They will start by isolating one variable and substituting its current equation value into the next equation. As a class we will work on a few examples together, students will be encouraged to participate during this time in the form of questioning and modeling. Students will also work on independent practice by submitting answers privately in the chat giving me an opportunity to check...
Students will learn to solve the value of the variables given in two equations by using the substitution method.
This is a lesson that I have taught both in a public school with a class of 30 students and in private tutoring setting, and I have always been able to identify the misconceptions regarding this lesson. This helps me adjust the lesson to individual needs.
Students are encouraged to come prepared to class with a paper and pencil for notes. Markers or colors are recommended for this lesson.
Students will be assessed in the form of questioning throughout the lesson. Students will also demonstrate comprehension through modeling the steps learned.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
