In this one time course students will learn how to use their inferencing and observation skills to solve two mystery cases. I will review the vocabulary word, Inferencing, by playing a game and with discussion. I will then introduce the mystery case to the students and they will read about each "suspect" in the crime. We will practice highlighting text evidence to make an inference. The students will discuss as a class who they think committed the crime and explain their reasoning. I will give the answer to the mystery case before moving on to our second mystery case to solve!

Students will gather text evidence from reading the suspect handouts provided to make an informed conclusion.Other Details
Supply List
Students will need a sheet of paper/ notebook and a pencil. I will also provide reading handouts.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
