Slugs & Bugs - Show & Tell with Insect Facts - "It's Not Easy Being a Lazy Bug"

Hey parents & students! My name is Mrs. Mellor and I love to teach grades preschool-6th grade classes that include 
•beginner ESL
•arts and crafts

•bugs, dinosaurs, rocks, trucks, construction
•messy fun like paint, dirt, sand, slime, & playdough

If your child is ages 3-12 and they are learning English, social skills, or they love hands-on messy projects - then you have come to the right place! I have experience serving and teaching this age group for 10+ years. I love making learning fun for kids so that they will love learning too! I have a Bachelor of Science in Educational Studies and the foundational and advanced TESOL certification through VIPKid. I have also completed numerous other online teaching trainings.
I have two little boys ages 2 and 3 so I know trucks, planes, trains, bugs, rocks, dinosaurs, monsters, and superheros VERY well ;)

I LOVE learning and I consider myself a student for life! This perspective really shapes my philosophy of teaching. I believe it is important for students to see the value behind what they are learning so that they too will learn to LOVE learning. In order to cultivate these values in my classroom I encourage students to ask the hard questions, be curious, promote self-motivation, and I focus on including every type of learner in my lesson plans.

As a family, our favorite ways to spend time together are to serve together at the local outreach center my husband works at, take long walks, and to watch movies together! We are a foster family and hope to open our doors to anyone and everyone to feel welcome. My favorite flower is a Sunflower, and my favorite food is a BLT with extra mayo and salt and vinegar chips! 

I love thrifting and thrift 90% of the clothing, decor, and even some of the other things in our home! Thrifting sometimes gets a bad rap but there are so many reasons why it is a great thing. I love to share my finds and tips when it comes to thrifting so you may see a class or two that teaches the value, excitement, and how-tos of thrifting for teens.
