In this on-going class, students will learn how to sketch a portrait of a cat with pencil and turn the sketching into a realistic drawing with shading and blending techniques.
Class experience
Cats have been human pets for centuries over the world. To introduce other types of cats which students perhaps have neither seen nor had as pet, this class is designed so students can study a portrait of a cat by sketching and be familiar with the texture and look of the cat by shading. Students will be instructed to construct a portrait of a dog and turn the sketch into a realistic drawing with shading and blending. The reference of each lesson will be from a book called “The Cat...
- Pencil (2B or darker such as 3B, 4B,...) - Eraser (cut by half diagonally) - Q tips (or stumps) - Cotton balls - Soft hair brushes (optional)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
