In this interactive math class, students 3 to 7 yrs will have fun with friends, adding quantities up to ten through songs. They will do actions suggested in the songs, as individual and as a group while singing, adding and telling total. .

In this one-time class, students will be singing, counting and adding two amounts together to make a total. This will be an interactive class, where students will be given lots of opportunity to count and add different amounts. We will start with a greeting song to greet everyone, calling each child by name. Children can wave to friends and join in to sing. Google slides will be used for some activities where children will count objects, tell the amount in different groupings and then add together as the songs indicates to arrive at a total amount. I will also use visuals that children can count and then add amounts together. Individual children will be called on to add and tell the total of two amounts. We will do some activities as a group and individual students will also be encourage to count and add by himself/herself. Teacher will help student to count/add if needed, so each student will have a sense of achievement. The final activity will be a story problem solving using names of students in class. eg. John has 2 cookies(shows 2 finger/counters) and Mark gave him 2 more(shows 2 fingers/counters) how many cookies would you have John? Each child will have a least one opportunity to solve a story problem. More opportunities will be given, if time permits. We will sing the goodbye song and wave goodbye to each other to end the class. My classroom is a place where learning is fun and engaging. I believe that children learn best when they enjoy what they do. I love to be their cheer leader and provide lots of encouragement to help them succeed. I am very patient and kind and look forward to meeting learners from around the globe.

Students will bring a total of 10 counters to count and add groups of objects. (whatever is available- e.g. crayons, bottle caps)
