Have you ever purchased a sewing pattern from the store but had no idea where to start? In this class, students will; learn how to read the envelope of a commercial or indie sewing pattern. Sewing patterns can be overwhelming if you don't know how to take measurements! Students will also learn how to take measurements on themselves. This will help students determine which size they are on the pattern. We will also discuss fabric types and where to find the proper notions for your pattern. Students will also learn about PDF patterns v. commercial patterns. Students can bring a pattern to class to use while we are learning. **As this is an introductory class, we will not be talking about altering or making changes to patterns**
