Description
Class Experience
Have you ever purchased a sewing pattern from the store but had no idea where to start? In this class, students will; learn how to read the envelope of a commercial or indie sewing pattern. Sewing patterns can be overwhelming if you don't know how to take measurements! Students will also learn how to take measurements on themselves. This will help students determine which size they are on the pattern. We will also discuss fabric types and where to find the proper notions for your pattern....
-Students will learn how to read a pattern -Students will learn about sizing -Students will learn how to take measurements at the proper place
We will be taking measurements on our bodies including our bust, waist and hips (required measurements on all patterns). Please be mindful if your learner has any sensitives to taking measurements in these designated areas.
-Flexible Measuring Tape 60" in length (can be found at joanns, target, amazon for $2 or less) -Sewing Pattern (this is not required as we will be looking at two in class that the teacher will provide) -Pencil & Paper to write measurements
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
***Cancellations and Student No Shows: If your student can't be there, please withdraw your student, or at least contact me prior to class, and I will withdraw them. If you want a make-up class for the one missed, you will need to go back to sign up for another class. I do not make transfers. I apologize for the inconvenience. Communication BEFORE class is key. If you let me know before class starts your student will not be there, they will be withdrawn, and you will not pay for the class.
