Class Experience

These will be reading passages and questions at the beginning 2nd grade level.
There will be a variety of reading passages of different topics.
The class will meet each day for one hour.
I will teach via Zoom. The reading passages will be displayed so the students can read and follow along.
I am very patient in teaching! However, I do love to talk and garner feedback as well!
Students will interact quite a bit! They will be reading and answering questions (I will not always be the talker).
The student should have some working knowledge of the alphabet, letter/word correspondence, and some blending. Even if the student is struggling in reading, this will be great practice.

Learning Goals

Students will improve their reading and comprehension. In addition, they will be writing the comprehension questions and answers. They will be assisted with spelling via the white board.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

My name is Austin! I am a certified teacher with 24 years experience! I have taught everything from Pre-K to college! I love teaching! I have taught primarily special education and elementary school for many years. However, I have taught all subjects at all levels! I love to teach the basics: Reading, Writing, Math -- they are paramount to children succeeding: knowing the basics!
