In this fun and engaging class the students will learn what DNA is and how it makes each of us unique! We will create an edible DNA craft, explore hereditary traits such as achoo syndrome, cleft chin, bent pinkie fingers, free earlobes, dimples, tongue rolling, hand clasping, length of toes, near-sightedness and eye color. We will discuss immediate families and extended families and how these traits are passed down to us through our DNA. Finally, we will create a unique family tree that...
Students will learn what DNA is and how physical traits are passed along from generation to generation. Students will learn about 10 physical traits that are inherited. Students will experience taking a poll of various family members to see who exhibits each physical trait discussed. Students will create a graphic to show what they have learned in the form of a unique family tree.
