Students will learn in a combination of discussion board usage and well as live discussion of the book. The teacher will interact through both forums. The topics covered will be the following books: I Survived The Sinking of the Titanic, 1912; I Survived The San Francisco Earthquake, 1906; I survived The Attacks of September 11, 2001; and I Survived Hurricane Katrina, 2005. Week 1: Read The Sinking of the Titanic, 1912. Discuss the book by answering book club type questions and talking about the history of The Sinking of the Titanic. Week 2: Read The San Francisco Earthquake, 1906. Discuss the book by answering book club type questions and talking about the history of The San Francisco Earthquake. Week 3: Read The Attacks of September 11,2001. Discuss the book by answering book club type questions and talking about the history of The Attacks of September 11, 2001. Week 4: Read Hurricane Katrina, 2005. Discuss the book by answering book club type questions and talking about the history of Hurricane Katrina.

Good Day. My name is Jamie Ross, and I love to teach. I also love to learn. But I gain my biggest joy from seeing kids "get it" and enjoy learning. I have worked with elementary and middle school aged children for seven years. I specialize in all topic in language arts/English: grammar, writing, reading, ESL. I believe that if you meet students where they are, you can bring them to where you need them to be. I currently tutor for my local school district and tutor in the evenings on the side, including all ages PK-12. I love to make leaning fun for my students. I am also a current graduate student, studying for my Master of Arts in English. My ultimate goal is to teach at the collegiate level.Reviews
