Reading Assessments With Tailored Reading and Writing Instruction

In this program, we will begin by assessing your child's current reading level using the DIBELS assessment (Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills).  This is an assessment that is frequently used in schools in order to determine a child's current reading levels.   I  will look at specific phonemes and benchmarks to determine where your child is at in their reading abilities.  I will use this data to drive instruction.  

   We will then move through a sequential program that will build upon your child's existing skills.  The program will include guided reading practice, fluency, vocabulary building and word study (ex. prefixes and suffixes) .   I will used advanced questioning techniques in order to ignite higher order thinking.  We will work on comprehension as your student reads through challenging texts.
