1. Curriculum: Student will learn how to solve mathematical expressions with 5 Math Properties: Commutative Associative Distributive Inverse Transitive 2. Teaching Style: Demonstrate: - I will share knowledge about foundational skills - I will promote learning for learners by sharing using visuals(video, pictures, charts, flashcards, books) - I will demonstrate how each learning concept is used - I will give students guidance and support when they are doing activities -I will provide feedback to improve understanding Instruction: Sometimes mathematical expressions can look intimidating. Luckily, there are math properties that allow you to reorder, group and distribute terms to make expressions simpler to solve. Students will learn the commutative, associative and distributive properties, and practice applying them to solve problems. 3. Instruction Developmental Skills that will practiced in class: Math: Solving math problems 4. Class Date/Topic/Schedule/Structure/Interaction: Week 1 Associative Property Week 2 Distributive Property Week 3 Commutative Property Week 4 Inverse Property Week 5 Transitive Property 5.Online Rules: -Learners can use tablet or computer. -Learners can eat, drink and use the restroom. -Learners can dance to music if it's played. -Learners can leave early if work is completed. *If you need to reach me don't hesitate to message me or write a classroom comment on the classroom page. 6. Apply properties of operations as strategies to multiply and divide.2 Examples: If 6 × 4 = 24 is known, then 4 × 6 = 24 is also known. (Commutative property of multiplication.) 3 × 5 × 2 can be found by 3 × 5 = 15, then 15 × 2 = 30, or by 5 × 2 = 10, then 3 × 10 = 30. (Associative property of multiplication.) Knowing that 8 × 5 = 40 and 8 × 2 = 16, one can find 8 × 7 as 8 × (5 + 2) = (8 × 5) + (8 × 2) = 40 + 16 = 56. (Distributive property.)
