Class Experience

In this 1 time class, students will practice making squares and rectangles to draw a robot. They will then get to use their imagination to create a background for their robot.

Class Layout:
We will talk about the difference between squares and rectangles.
We will draw a robot step by step with a pencil.
We will outline our robot with a black marker.
Students will then get to color their robot.
Students will then create a background for their robot.
Students can name their robot if they would like.

This class will be fun and students are free to ask questions and talk about drawing a robot.

All students work at their own pace. Some may not finish with their background before the end of class. I encourage them to finish after the class, if they want to.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi, I am Mrs. Alicia. I teach creative art classes. Creative art classes are classes that not only teach basic art skills but encourage and strengthen a child’s natural creativity.

My teaching style is laid back and light. I enjoy talking to my students and socializing is encouraged in my classes. I only ask that my students work while they talk so they can complete their project.

I encourage my students to try. Some of my projects are challenging but I remind students that very few people get it right the first time. Art takes practice and it is ok to try again.

I work with students on problem solving. Mistakes happen. What can you do to fix that mistake? Sometimes the mistake can be erased or turned into something else and sometimes it can’t. If the mistake can’t be fixed, then maybe the problem isn’t the mistake but how we look at it. Mistakes in art can create interest in our drawing or painting.

I have an associate degree in Early Childhood Education, which includes Early Childhood Credentials. I use the knowledge I gained while working towards my degree to create age-appropriate activities for my students. I also use this knowledge to create a fun classroom environment where every student feels welcome, included, and important.

I am so excited to share my love of art and the creative process with your children. Thank you for your interest in my classes.
