For the past 29 years I enjoyed teaching children from ages 4-15; I have enjoyed teaching children in brick-and-mortar classrooms and online classrooms. I have also enjoyed working in a classroom and one-on-one settings. One of my favorite subjects to teach has always been reading! In this one-on-one class we will start at the beginning with letter recognition; we will then proceed to letters sounds, blending, and reading words. Students can start at any point along this reading journey. I always enjoy working with parents as they give me insight into where their child is presently and working from that starting point. My teaching style is to make learning fun. I play different games to help children learn without even realizing they are learning. I like to be encourage each child; helping them to gain confidence and learn to love learning I look forward to meeting your child and helping them to love reading as much as I do.

Hello, my name is Parri!
I am so excited to be teaching with Outschool. I hope to teach classes in Phonics, Math, Art, and Sea Glass.
I have been teaching for 28 years; I taught for 25. 5 years in a Brick and Mortar school and for 2.5 years online. I have taught Reading, Language, Phonics, Literature, Spelling, Math, Social Studies, Canadian Studies, and Science. I LOVE teaching Phonics and Reading. Online I have been teaching children ages 4-14 to speak English. I also do tutoring with these ages and in these subjects both online and in person.
I believe teaching should be fun and at the same time assist students to reach their highest potential. I like to teach using games and activities that encourage learning in a fun way! I want my students to know I care about them and their learning.
One of the first classes I hope to teach is one about Sea Glass; I LOVE the beach. Since I was a child, I have been roaming beaches looking for sea glass; I also love making things with the glass too!
