Description
Class Experience
Students will learn: Artistic skills and techniques related to drawing, painting, sculpting, and creating How to create high quality compositions in relation to their artistic skills and abilities How to think outside of the box and take ownership of their own creative ideas in the art making process How to create, present, respond, & connect to art (National Core Arts Standards) The elements of art: Line, color, shape, texture, space, value, & form How to use and take care of their art tools; scissors, paint brushes, drawing tools, glue, etc. How to express themselves through the art making process
The learner supply list will be subject to whatever artistic style or medium they wish to explore. For the very first session the following supplies are recommended: -8 1/2 x 11 paper or card stock -pencil -black Sharpie marker -crayons, colored pencils, and/or markers It is also helpful if the learner has finished artwork to share so that we can discuss it and make a learning plan for future sessions.
Students will be taught how to self critique their artwork. The teacher will provide them with positive feedback to help them make artistic choices & decisions regarding their artwork.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
