1:1 Private Art Class for Summer ~ Lighthouse Landscape Painting in Watercolors
All passionate young artists, we will have fun painting an awesome landscape painting of a lighthouse using some basic proportions, composition and balance with color harmony and watercolor techniques.

Class Experience
Welcome to Mrs. D's Art Room where it is always a good day when you are learning something new. This lighthouse painting is my original artwork I painted from a photo taken when we visited the place. I wanted to share my expertise with young passionate artists to experience the same awesome expression I experienced while painting the artwork with them. First 1/2 hr. ~ We will learn how to draw a lighthouse and the small houses around it using easy steps understanding proportion, perspective and some basic rules of landscape painting. Next whole hour ~ We will spend learning watercolor techniques including the coloring of the sky, trees and houses. We will learn wet onto wet, water wash, blending, layering, lifting color and many more fun things using watercolors. I will focus on how to hold your brushes and how to use proper pressure while applying them. We will mostly use round and flat watercolor brushes while painting. I will use a dual-screen so that kids can see me drawing with them throughout the whole class. If learners are familiar with using canvas they are welcome to use canvas for this painting. I will use watercolor paper for this demo project. The young artist will be encouraged to make their artwork unique and complete their art independently if they are not finished in class. I pace our class based on the student’s abilities, so we will go slower or faster depending on how they are doing. No experience is needed for this class; learners will follow the directions I give. Learning Goals
Students will improve understanding of landscape painting. Young artists will learn the use of paints and mediums with impressive brush stokes professionally. Young learners will improve the understanding of proportion, perspective, light and shade and color balance.

I am an artist by profession. I have a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. I have participated in many art exhibitions in my public art center and library and taught art, crafts, and card making in elementary schools and Girl Scouts as a volunteer. I love to share art with my community.
I have been teaching 1:1 art classes online and in person for the last 5 years to ages 4 to 14 years. I have instructed children online all around the world, and continue to teach local classes and workshops in my community. I am so happy to continue what I am doing on a bigger and better platform from the comfort of my home.
I like to teach Art Theory in most of my projects so kids will learn multiple things without even realizing it. I believe all students can learn, and art is the best way to express yourself and your feelings in your unique way.
Art helps to improve hand and eye coordination. It also helps to grow your concentration and patience. Sometimes young minds can't express themselves through talking, but through drawing. I love connecting with students through art and helping them grow, laugh, and have some fun!
Class Expectation: Everyone works at different speeds. If the child is not finished with the piece by the end of class, they can finish the remaining picture at home and post it in the classroom.
