Students maybe be given a worksheet or passage that supports what they worked on in the class to complete on their own time. It will be short and take about 15 minutes to complete.Assessment
Informal assessments are completed while the student is learning for the instructor to adjust the learning as needed in the class. Formal assessments are used to progress monitor the student every 4-6 classes to share growth and/or areas of concerns with the families.Class Experience
US Grade Preschool - 2
In this ongoing class, learners will focus on Pre-K through 2nd grade (ages 3 to 8) math skills. Learners will work on writing numbers, counting, number sense, addition (one and digit with and without regrouping), subtraction (one and digit with and without regrouping), data collection and graphing. Each lesson will be built upon parent requests and student assessments conducted by the teacher. 1. Prior to the first class, the teacher and parent will discuss a plan of instructional goals for the learner. 2. On the first class, the teacher will conduct a personal assessment of the learner in a variety of math activities to see and evaluate the strengths and areas of concern for the learner. 3. Future classes will build upon one another. The teacher will begin class by modeling of concepts with the learner. The student will then complete 2-5 activities with the teacher that review the daily concept. Hands on activities with at home with manipulatives and online games will be used.
