Class Experience
In this flex course, students will cover all major concepts covered in a highschool physics science class to either prepare for an upcoming fall semester science class or review from a previous physics. Any high school student can join this class if they are interested in these topics! Some of these concepts will build upon each other so students can join at any time throughout the summer. Summer is a great time for learning, review, and to prep for next year. My goal is to make this science class fun as we investigate key physics concepts and principles to help your learn build confidence in the material. This will also serve as good ACT prep for the science section. Your learner can expect to learn through my personal lecture videos, interactive notes, PhET simulation, and quizziz . Students will make foldables and interactive notes as they go through this course so they can review the material for the next year. I will send out 1-2 weekly videos along with the materials, note pages, and PPT's so students can follow along. Each video will be approximately 30 mins. Students may need additional time to pause the video to take down the notes. Week 1 Motion and Newtons Laws Week 2Forces Week 3:: Energy (potential and kinetic and ID kinematic formulas) Week 4 Work, Power, and Machines Week 5 Waves and Sound Week 6 Circuits Week 7: Matter: Kepler's Laws of planetary motion Week 8: Life cycle of a star/ fusion & fusion
Learning Goals
Students will gain a basis of knowledge in physics concepts
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Quizziz is a 3rd party tool. When using quizziz, there is no account needed. Students will get access to a link, and they can practice quiz based questions in game format.
PhET is a 3rd party tool. When using PhET, there is no account needed. Students will get a link and it will take them directly to the simulation. On some of the recordings, I will screen share the PhET lab to show relationships between forces, motion, circuits, etc. students will have the opportunity to do the simulation on their own if they choose.
