Learner progress will be assessed daily during each lesson as the teacher sees and hears that the student has become independent in reciting the information learned during lessons and routines. Students will be able to ask and answer questions on their own. Students will have individual turns to demonstrate progress and understanding. Parents can also assess their own child's progress as they become more independent during their participation in class as well as how they are using learned information outside of class.Class Experience
US Grade Pre-Kindergarten
Beginner Level
▬▬▬▬▬▬ ⭐Course Overview⭐ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ Welcome to our exciting and unique pre-kindergarten class! In this class, we will learn important skills necessary for kindergarten, and learn a few languages as well. No prior experience or knowledge is required, so all learners are welcome! Each week, we will focus on important concepts such as days of the week, months of the year, counting, adding, subtracting, letter names and sounds, rhyming, sight words, and reading and writing words. We will use a variety of engaging teaching techniques such as chanting, singing, call and response, and interactive activities. Our daily classroom routine will involve singing, body movement, multilingual calendar time, vocabulary and color/shape of the week, counting, adding, subtracting, writing, drawing and reading stories. We will also practice saying hello and goodbye in many ways. In each class we will start with: Multilingual Circle & Calendar (15 minutes) - students may sit on the floor or any comfortable place that will allow them, if they choose, to sit “crisscross applesauce”. Reading (15 minutes) - after a brief music and movement break, students, if necessary, will transition to a chair and table in order to participate in writing activities during reading. Math (15 minutes) - after a quick music and moment break, students will return to a chair and table in order to participate in writing activities for math. 📅 Are you looking for a class that meets 1x, 2x, 3x, or 4x per week? Send us a message about a class frequency change. ▬▬▬▬▬▬ 📚Weekly Course Examples📚 ▬▬▬▬▬▬ Here is a breakdown of our weekly schedule: ⭐Week of Jan. 29: Letters: Aa, Bb, Cc, Dd / Numbers: 81-85 / Color: Red / Shape: Circle ⭐Week of of Feb. 5. : Letters: Ee, Ff, Gg, Hh / Numbers: 86-90 / Color: blue / Shape: square ⭐Week of Feb. 12: Letters: Ii, Jj, Kk, Ll / Numbers: 91-95 / Color: green / Shape: triangle ⭐Week of Feb. 19: Letters: Mm, Nn, Oo, Pp / Numbers: 96-100 / Color: yellow / Shape: rectangle ⭐Week of Feb. 26: Letters: Qq, Rr, Ss, Tt / Numbers: 101-105 / Color: orange / Shape: oval ⭐Week of Mar. 3: Letters: Uu, Vv / Numbers: 106-110 / Color: purple / Shape: diamond ⭐Week of Mar. 10: Letters: Ww, Xx / Numbers: 111-115 / Color: pink / Shape: star ⭐Week of Mar. 17: Letters: Yy, Zz / Numbers: 116-120 / Color: brown / Shape: heart *New themes will be introduced after this week. Parental Guidance
It will be helpful if students can access their writing tools on zoom which can be found on the tool bar under "annotate" or "view options". Teacher can work around this if using the tool bar is not an option for the student. In this case, student should have a paper and writing utensil handy so that they can participate in writing or drawing activities.

Mrs. Lewshawnda Haywood- I have more than 20 years of experience teaching young learners as well as creating PreK programs for schools. I ran a 4 year old PreK program for a charter school in which students were reading at a 1st grade level by the end of the year. I also founded a private school of my own which included 3 and 4 year old Pre-K students who ended their year not only prepared for Kindergarten but also as confident beginning readers as well.
I have completed post secondary credits in Arabic, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese at North Central University and The University of Minnesota. I have been teaching each of these languages at the beginning level for more than 10 years to students in PreK through 8th grade.
