My teaching style is calm and encouraging. I like to help learners to do their best and have fun, without making them feel pressured to do things perfectly. This class will build on the skills children learned in my Pottery Camps. Pottery Camp is not a prerequisite, however. In this class, learners will experiment with a variety of pottery techniques. They will work on developing small motor skills, increase their creativity, and have fun making functional and artistic pottery projects.
For each lesson, learners will need air dry or natural modelling clay, and the following pottery tools : Rolling pin, parchment paper, toothpicks, a pencil, a small paper or plastic bowl, popsicle sticks, a small sponge, and a little dish of water. An art mat or plastic placemat will also come in handy.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
