Poetry Sisterhood Camp: Transform Your Poem With Technology (Ages 13-18)
In this 2-day camp, you'll create a digital poem with Google Slides, illustrate and animate it with graphics and effects, and create a link for sharing. Lots of fun, your poetry will come to life with this project you'll cherish forever.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ This camp uses PCs, Macs or Chromebooks only. No iPads or other devices. This camp is strictly for my past and present Poetry Sisterhood group members. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Each Sisterhood poet will take one of her favorite previously written poems (or write a new one before attending) and convert it into a digital poem using Google Slides. Poets will learn to change backgrounds, use quality images and graphics, animate slides, include transitions and effects, and more. A great way to combine writing and technology, the following skills (and some tech tips and tricks) will be covered: Day 1 - June 23: Inserting transparent images, graphics and/or backgrounds; creating custom shapes; selecting and changing font, size and alignment Day 2 - June 24: Animating graphic elements, incorporating transitions to create digital poem effects, creating customized link speed for automatic viewing When camp is complete, each Sisterhood poet will leave with a tangible digital poem to share with family and friends.
Learning Goals
Sisterhood poets will combine creative writing with technology to create a virtual product they are proud of while increase their tech skills.
