Does your child know all of their letters and sounds? Are they ready to start reading on their own? Then, this is the class for you. Created by a 10 year teacher with training in Orton-Gillingham, this course is a fun way to go from letters to reading!
This fun, interactive 8-week class is perfect for children who know their letter names and sounds but are ready to take the next step — blending CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words and mastering essential sight words.

📖Short decodable stories for guided reading practice. You can download these after class for additional practice!

Sound It Out: Meet the Vowels
In this lesson, children will review vowel sounds (a, e, i, o, u) and practice identifying these sounds in short words. Fun games will help learners build confidence recognizing vowel sounds in CVC word patterns. 25 mins online live lesson
Lesson 2:
Blending Basics: Let's Mix It Up!
Children will learn how to blend consonants and vowels to read simple CVC words (e.g., cat, sit, mop). We'll use guided blending techniques and fun phonics activities to reinforce blending skills. We will also learn the sight words "the" and "is". 25 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
Building Words: The Power of "at" and "it"
Learners will explore word families (e.g., cat, hat, bat, and sit, hit, pit). We'll focus on patterns to build fluency and confidence in reading multiple CVC words quickly. We will also learn the sight words "in" and "a". 25 mins online live lesson
Lesson 4:
Make it, Read it, Use it!
Learners will practice reading, building, and writing CVC words. Hands-on activities will reinforce letter-sound relationships and build confidence in spelling and reading CVC patterns. We will also learn the sight words "of" and "at". 25 mins online live lesson

Learning Needs
While my program is not created for children with unique learning needs, I am trained in Orton-Gillingham and try to use a multi-sensory approach to learning that meets the needs of all learners.
Supply List
The papers for each week will be posted in the classroom page. Your child will need to bring the correct papers each week. In addition, your child will need the following: kinetic sand (alternatively you can crush cereal or use sugar) crayons
