1 in-class hours per weekClass Experience
In this fun Peppa Pig- themed alphabet and numbers course, students will practice identifying letters, letter sounds, beginning sounds of objects, letter formation, numbers, number formation and counting-all with our favorite character-Peppa Pig! Each week on the first day of class, I will introduce 1 new letter, the letter sound, objects that begin with the letter sound, and model how to form the letter. We will finish the class with a fun book. On the second day of class for the week, I will introduce 1 new number, number formation, counting objects, a shape and a color. Students will have the opportunity to learn songs, play games, use play-doh and show what they know about letters and numbers! This is a great course to get your young learner ready for pre-k and kindergarten. If your child has a Peppa pig or other stuffed friend that wants to learn about the alphabet and numbers too, bring it along and let's have fun learning together! If your child does not have Peppa pig characters but has another stuffed friend to bring, feel free to do so! I love all animals! Each week, there will be two classes. I will introduce a new letter for the first class and a number, color, and shape for second class of the week. We will begin each class with a review of what we have learned. Students will also be allowed to show their learning friend (Peppa pig, etc.). Once we complete the entire alphabet and numbers 0-20, the course will start again with letter A and number 0. So, your child can jump in for a needed letter/number or review at any time! No prior knowledge is needed to begin the course. This course will be helpful in building your child's literacy skills and number sense. I send handouts each week for your child to use for practice if you would like but are not required. I hope to see your child in my class! Supply List
Students are encouraged to bring dry erase board and markers to practice letter and number formation in writing. However, this is not required as we will use other strategies such as air-writing, making letters/numbers with play-doh, etc. to practice formation of letters/numbers. Students are also encouraged to bring play-doh as we will use this to practice formation of letters/numbers as well. If there are other supplies a student will need, I will send a message through Outschool classroom in advance. This should be on rare occasions if at all. I provide practice handouts your child can use for further practice, but they are not required for class.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
