Do penguins have superpowers? How do they survive in harsh environments and icy cold water? Students will learn fun facts about these aquatic flightless birds as well as what adaptations are required for life in the water. Students will interact with the teacher and others through video chat and messaging on the classroom page. Class time structure/topics: 1) Intro to penguins 2) Penguin anatomy with activity 3) Penguin habitat 4) Penguin physiology with activity Penguins are popularly loved around the world. This class will show students some of the science behind the beloved creatures of Happy Feet, Surf's Up, and Mr. Popper's Penguins. Waddle in to class today!

I have degrees in marine biology and education, with emphasis on informal marine education. I have over 20 years of experience teaching students of all ages about marine biology and all things aquatic. I love using hand-on examples to make learning fun!
