In this one-time class, students will learn how penguins stay warm and dry in icy cold water. Students will also learn the body parts and life cycle of penguins.

Class Experience

Do penguins have superpowers? How do they survive in harsh environments and icy cold water? Students will learn fun facts about these aquatic flightless birds as well as what adaptations are required for life in the water. Students will interact with the teacher and others through video chat and messaging on the classroom page. 

Class time structure/topics:
1) Intro to penguins
2) Penguin anatomy with activity
3) Penguin habitat
4) Penguin physiology with activity 

Penguins are popularly loved around the world. This class will show students some of the science behind the beloved creatures of Happy Feet, Surf's Up, and Mr. Popper's Penguins. Waddle in to class today!
