Oh no! We have to move the penguins to a new home, but our key is locked in a trunk with a combination lock! We only have a little time to get all the numbers and unlock the key before all the baby penguins starve! We will explore many aspects of the penguin's life in an escape room theme. The object is to finish 5 tasks before the baby penguins starve from lack of food due to climate change. Tasks will be full of information about the penguin's body, habitat, diet, and predators as an introduction to learners interested in zoology. We will learn a few facts about each subject and do activities like find-and-click, review quiz, choose your own adventure, unscrambling words, and two truths and a lie after each presentation of information to reinforce the concepts. Completing each activity will give a number. The learning happens in a Google Slides presentation full of fun animations, sound effects, and clickable tasks. The teacher will screen share; no materials are needed outside the classroom. By the end of the escape room, students will be able to talk about penguins and give a few facts about lives.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their knowledge of penguins.
