Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 4
In this one-day class, students will learn about Mars. They'll learn about the distance, travel time, mars habitat, and atmosphere. The main objective of this class is to learn about Mars habitat and what it would take to establish life on the planet.
Class objectives:
Students will calculate the distance between Earth and Mars. How long will it take us to arrive on the planet?
Discuss Mars current habitat and why we can't live on the planet just yet!
Based on our discussion and what we have learned we will discuss a plan to create a habitat on Mars that can sustain life.
What types of homes do we need to build? What do we have to do to get water on Mars?
Learners will work in groups to come up with a plan to sustain life on Mars.

In breakout rooms:

Students will build a plan with a small group of learners and discuss their ideas with the class. We will be the first martian on Mars. This class is fun and educational.

Learners will need blocks (Legos or other building blocks) or clay (play-doh), worksheets or paper, and a pencil. Crayons and colored pencils are optional.

Class structure:
Meet and greet, introductions!
Talk and discuss facts about Mars. (Short lecture)
Breakout room assignment (printable worksheets will be provided)
We will discuss everyones plan.
