Class Experience

In Part 3, students will learn how to create their own website using Google Sites that they can use to house their escape rooms. Students will learn how to place the escape room we created in Part 1 (“Grandma is Gone”) onto their site. I will show them how to create hyperlinks and use Google Drawings to create interactive pictures where students can “hide” clues for people who are playing their escape rooms. Lastly, they will learn how publish their site so other can visit it!

(You will need a free Google Account for this class.) If you are using a Google Account from your school, it may restrict access to some of the links.
Learning Goals
Your student will create a website using Google Sites and learn how to insert their escape rooms into their websites. Students will also learn how to create hyperlinks and interactive elements to their site using Google Drawings.

Parental Guidance
Students will need access to a Google Account during the class. It is best if you DO NOT use an account associated with your school. If you could use a parent's Google Account, that would be ideal. Sometimes the links do not work properly on school accounts.

I love Escape Rooms and any time I use them in my classes, my students always enjoy them too! I have used these digital escape rooms in my class for a number of years and have seen how powerful they can be in student learning! I have taught Education Technology to students for 10+ years and love to help them create new things through the use of tech. I use a "We Do, You Do" approach to teaching! I will show them a skill and we will do them together, and then they will do it on their own!
