Have you ever participated in an escape room? During this class, we will work towards building our own escape rooms in Minecraft using some unique redstone concepts. We will teach you some basic redstone logic gates, different puzzles you can create in Minecraft, and some redstone and building tricks so you can make an exciting and well-built escape room. At the end of the class, we will explore other students' escape room. For this class, only Minecraft Java Edition (not the Bedrock edition) for PC or Mac is supported. It is not compatible with iPads, tablets, phones, Chromebook, or game consoles. Students must purchase the Java Edition of Minecraft for their personal computers; tablets, Chromebook or consoles will not suffice. Beginners are welcome, but some redstone experience may help students better understand and participate in the class. In addition to providing a fun experience and a product that the students can keep forever, this class will teach students how to: - Introduce electrical engineering and architectural concepts through Minecraft. - Hone their creativity through custom puzzle building. - Develop problem-solving skills and computational thinking through redstone circuitry - Design buildings and set pieces inside the escape rooms. - Give instructions to others and accept feedback from teachers and peers alike - Use technology to accomplish goals
