Class 1 First students will need to introduce themselves by coming off mute. They will say their name and what they are excited for about the course. Students will learn about creating realistic depth in artwork by using a technique called one point perspective drawing. Students will see images to help understand what is one point perspective and how can it be used to create a realistic drawing. Students will practice this technique and share their practice sketches before moving on to learning about OP art. Students will learn about OP art - What is it and see examples of OP art from several artists. While looking at artwork student can get ideas for their own artwork. Students will think about what colors and what design they want to use for the next class, they will receive a hand out for different background options to practice with. Class 2 Students will share their idea designs and decide what shapes they will include in their artwork. I will demonstrate spheres and cubes and review the options from last class. We will begin the drawing of the larger artwork. Students can choose to follow mine step by step or can be more creative in their design depending on their comfort level. Students should have time to complete the project but depending on how fast or slow they work they may need additional time outside of class. Students are expected to post their final artwork on the classroom page.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello!
I am Ms. Shell and I offer a wide variety of classes involving art. I have a teaching license for art pre-k through 12 and am currently in school getting my masters in art therapy and counseling.
I prefer to work with a variety of mediums and while I offer classes that teach technical art skills I also offer courses that focus more on creativity and self-discovery. If you are interested in a course you do not see I am also happy to consider recommendations.
I absolutely love teaching art but am no longer able to do so full time since I am in graduate school. I am also a mother to a 1.5 year old!
A fun fact about me is while I was in college I also used to work as a FX make up artist where it was my job to create monsters for a theme park! We would create masks and prosthetics as well as use airbuses for full face paint jobs!
I can't wait to create art with you and learn about your interests and talents.
