Beginner Level
Each week, we will be covering different stitches for beginners in embroidery as well as getting started. Our class will include teacher demonstration, student practice, and discussion on ways to use the stitched learned. These basic stitches do increase in complexity as we progress through the class. Week 1: Blanket and Running Stitches Week 2: Back Stitches Week 3: Satin Stitch Week 4: Fishbone Stitch Week 5: Lazy Daisy Stitch Week 6: Stem Stitch Week 7: Outline Stitch Week 8: Split Stitch Week 9: Chain Stitch Week 10: Feather Stitch Week 11: Fern Stitch Week 12: Cross Stitch Week 13: Herringbone Stitch Week 14: French Knot Students will need to know these stitches in order to attend other embroidery classes.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to complete each stitch.
Students will be able to evaluate their work and what they do well and what they need to improve on.

Pre-Requisites
Students should know or practice threading a needle with embroidery thread and tying a knot at one end before their first class

Embroidery hoop (6 or 8 inch) Embroidery needle Linen squares, one per class (white or natural, 10" x 10") Embroidery thread Scissors Light colored felt-tip pen

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
