Intermediate Level
In this ongoing class, you will increase your vocabulary, phrases, and common sentence structures in more complex situations. Here are the topics of the first 16-week meetings. After 30 to 35 weeks, the whole rotation will start again. Week 1 08/27/2024 Meeting someone for the first time. Talking about yourself. Week 2 09/03/2024 Past tense of many verbs and describe your weekends with adjectives. Week 3 09/10/2024 The present perfect tense of various verbs. Week 4:09/17/2024 Ask for directions in more details. Week 5: 09/24/2024 Daily routine activities. Week 6: 10/01/20224 Review Week 1 through 5. Week 7: 10/08/20224 Explore Japanese school system and compare/contrast. Week 8: 10/15/20224 Review/learn about days, months, and years. Week 9: 10/22/20224 School subjects, teachers, clubs, etc. Week 10: 10/29/20224 More adjectives. Week 11: 11/05/20224. Review Week 6 through 10. Week 12: 11/12/20224. More adjectives. Week 13: 11/19/20224 "Let's...." with new verbs. Week 14: 11/26/20224. Learn "and" to connect sentences. Week 15: 12/03/20224. More verbs that ends with "suru." Week 16: 12/10/20224 Review Week 12 through 15. Each lesson consists of: practice pronunciation and sentences, Q & A, short dialogue, and role play. This class will be conducted mainly in Japanese except for the explanation of grammar. The presentation slides will be in Hiragana and Katakana most of the time. The presentation slides for each week will be shared with all the participants so that they can review after class.

In class, I will be sharing GoogleSlides with instructional materials. I sometimes use Quizlet classroom or Kahoot.it for vocabulary activities.
